English professor Dr. Joyce Hinnefeld is releasing a new short story collection, titled “The Beauty of Their Youth.”

The stories revolve around a small cast of characters of various ages and backgrounds, all of whom realize that they are reaching an end of an era in their lives and reflecting on the changes.

“Travel is a key component in several of the stories,” Hinnefeld said. “And memory, particularly the fallibility of memory, is a recurring theme.”

To celebrate the book’s publication, the Bethlehem Area Public Library is hosting a book launch that brings together local readers and writers.

The main event will feature a talk-back between Hinnefeld and another local author, Moravian adjunct professor Kate Racculia. (Racculia also interviewed Hinnefeld in an upcoming issue of the Fiction Writer’s Review.)

The event will be held on the first floor of the Bethlehem Area Public Library on Church Street on March 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Hor d’oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.

The book is available for purchase now. It will be for sale at the launch event, as well as at the Moravian Book Shop. It is also available online via Amazon.

NOTE: The book launch has been canceled. It may take place this summer.
