On December 12, the Art Department hosted its annual Open Studios, where multiple senior students exhibited the work they had been creating over the semester. Each student picks a central theme for their thesis, with the final exhibition being the culmination of four years of artwork.
The official opening for the Senior Thesis Exhibition will occur in Foy Hall, starting April 18, and will stay open until May 4.
Simone Toppin is a studio art major, and the central theme of her senior thesis is the study of intimacy.
Theo Berenato is a studio art major, with their main theme exploring childhood through portraiture.
Larisa Bohensky is a studio art and management major, and the title of her thesis is “Luminal Reverie.”
Allison Deluca is a studio art major with a concentration in photography and a minor in English, with much of her work exploring film-based photography and alternative processes, through themes of friendship and intimacy. Liam Fitting graduated in December with a B.A. in studio art and psychology; his work integrates historical research, surrealistic narratives, and psychological concepts to convey emotional intensity.
Avery Saladino is a photography and digital media major who spends much of her time photographing sports games.
Helana Holjes is an environmental science major with an art minor. Her theme is Feminism, exploring un-posed women in an authentic approach while also focusing on how lighting can play a part in the overall cohesion of a piece.
During the opening, the artists brought light refreshments to represent the themes of their artwork, ranging from chocolate to represent the theme of love to childhood snacks featured in their pieces.

Thanks for reporting on this really amazing event, Liz. As a faculty member that spends my time mainly on Main Campus, it was so nice to get to take a trip to South Campus and see the work from the amazing art students we have here. There were some really great pieces on display, and I am really looking forward to the Senior Thesis Exhibition this semester.
Congratulations to all of Moravian’s talented artists.
