Did you know John Oliver performed standup at Moravian?
Yeah, that’s right, the Emmy Award-winning host of Last Week Tonight graced Moravian’s campus all the way back in 2009 along with, then, fellow The Daily Show correspondent Wyatt Cenac and writer Rory Albanese. This event was held in Johnston Hall on Friday, April 3, 2009. Tickets were sold for $5 for students who had a Moravian I.D. and $15 for the general public.
Oliver was a part of The Daily Show while Jon Stewart was hosting and gained a more widespread audience by serving as the “Senior British Correspondent.” He won three Emmys throughout his tenure on The Daily Show and since his departure in 2013, his show Last Week Tonight has accrued 28 Emmys.
