How are you involved on campus?
I have been involved in the Greyhound Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, University Choir, Blue Stars Choir, Pep Band, Saxophone Orchestra, PCMEA, and 26 Point Ambassadors. I also held positions such as Music Department Social Media Coordinator, Pep Band Vice President & President, PCMEA Historian, First Year & Upperclassman Music Department Representative, Saxophone Section Leader for the Marching Band, Marching Band Social Media Coordinator, and Student Director of the Saxophone Orchestra.
What is your proudest accomplishment at Moravian?
Completing my senior recital, which showcased all the hard work I have put into playing my saxophone over the last four years. It was particularly special as well because I got to share the stage with my mother as my accompanist in our last public performance as “The Bellesfield Duo.”
Why did you choose to come to Moravian?
I wanted to be a part of the small, tight-knit community that I saw when I toured. I also heard many great things about the music department and the music education program.
What are your hobbies and passions?
Anything involving music or just generally being creative! I love to play instruments (such as saxophone, piano, flute, etc.), sing, paint, crochet, and bake or cook. Something I am especially passionate about is fostering the love of music within any student I have taught or will teach in the future.
What is your major? Why did you pick it?
Music education. I chose music education because music has always been such a passion in my life and [because] I have been influenced by so many of my past and present music teachers, including my mother (who was a music teacher as well). I want to share my passion for music with my future students, in hopes of inspiring them to pursue music.
What’s a little-known fact about you?
I own thirty-plus Squishmallows.
Favorite professor? Favorite class?
Professor Carole Lutte, as she has always supported me through everything and has helped to shape me into the future educator I am today. My favorite class is Music Education Lab Ensemble (MELE).
What is your favorite thing to eat on campus?
Burgers from the B&G.
Where do you go to study or do homework?
I often study or do homework in the Main Hall basement, my dorm room (Kappa Kappa Nicole’s Room), or in the Music Library on the third floor of Brethren’s House.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I just want to shout out to my friends, family, and past/current teachers who have supported me endlessly. I wouldn’t be the strong woman, musician, and future educator that I am today without you all.
