The Wise Bean is a place that has now become my favorite coffee shop of all time. This coffee shop has a wide range of drinks, from lemonades to matcha, protein smoothies, and, of course, coffee. They also serve delicious baked goods and breakfast sandwiches. The owner, Luke, is the nicest guy and extremely personable. He is incredibly knowledgeable about coffee, so if you can’t decide on a drink, he will be more than happy to give you a recommendation.
I have gone to The Wise Bean with many of my friends, easily over a dozen times this semester alone.
One of my friends is super indecisive and couldn’t make up her mind one day when we were at the counter of “the Bean.” The owner asked her if she liked peanut butter and chocolate, to which she said, “yes,” and he made her a peanut butter chocolate latte. When she tried it, she looked at me with surprise and told me it was delicious. She then told me she wanted to experiment more with the chocolate flavoring the next time we go.
I always get a caramel macchiato with a chocolate croissant or breakfast sandwich. It is the best caramel macchiato I have ever had, and I will continue to go back to Wise Bean to get them. Somehow the coffee is so smooth and not overly sweet. The coffee also doesn’t have the bitter or burnt taste that I have found some other coffee shops have.
My friends have ordered a multitude of drinks and they have loved every one. My friend who enjoys iced chai lattes said her drink had more of a spiced flavor compared to other chais she has had, but said it was enjoyable.
Another friend of mine had a pumpkin-spiced latte and said it was tasty. The lemonades and smoothies are delectable. The lemonades can be flavored with either purees or syrups. Wise Bean offers strawberry and mango puree and lavender and peach syrups.
I tried a strawberry peach lemonade and it was so yummy. It tasted almost like a peach ring candy with some strawberries. The smoothies are protein-packed, and as someone who works out and needs to ingest more protein than normal, it is nice to have that option.
The smoothies also have a pleasant texture and flavor, it isn’t very gritty like some protein smoothies can be. My friend got the orange mango smoothie and it tasted absolutely delicious.
The overall vibe of the coffee shop is nice.
There is a couch with some chairs as main seating, then it has two counter spaces. One counter space has three seats that face a wall, and another that also has three seats that face the window. It’s small so there isn’t a lot of foot traffic, which means it isn’t too loud. It also means there are not a lot of seating options, so if there are a few people there, spread out, it might not be the place to study that day.
The shop also has free wifi, which is a plus for any college student coming to get work or studying done.
My friend and I did some school work there, and we sat at the window counter and studied for two hours. It was a nice place to work and as someone who normally gets distracted easily, there weren’t a lot of disturbances and it was easy to get work done. Overall, it is a really cute place that has amazing coffee and I will definitely be returning for the rest of my time at Moravian.
