What made you want to apply for the Student Trustee position?
This position looked like a great opportunity to bolster my involvement here on campus.
What is the time commitment of this position?
There are regularly scheduled meetings that are likely to require several hours of my time each semester. In addition to that, I plan to be available to the student body as needs arise. I regularly check my email, and am open to spontaneous conversations if you spot me on campus. Always feel free to pull me aside for a chat.
How did you prepare and campaign for the Student Trustee election?
When I was nominated, I was super excited. I thought that the most important thing as a representative of the student body was to have people get to know me on a personal level. I felt that social media was a great way to connect with and put a name with a face. I tried to create videos with meaningful content and humor so that people would see that I was approachable.
What upcoming meetings do you have for this position?
My first two meetings will be on Apr. 3 and 4, where I will be officially voted in by the other board members. It will also be an opportunity to get a first-hand look at what I will be doing for the next two years.
How do you plan on accurately representing the student body?
The most important thing, to me, is being open and honest. I plan to listen and learn. I plan to put my best foot forward, engage with the other members, and be as productive as possible.
What does being a Student Trustee mean to you?
It is a real honor to have been voted in by my peers as someone who they believe represents them. I’m excited about what the future holds here at Moravian University.
