As the construction of the new HUB continues, it’s important to remember that this progress isn’t happening on its own. There is a dedicated and hardworking crew of workers at Warfel Construction who work tirelessly, day in and day out, to help bring President Grigsby’s dream of the HUB 2.0 into reality.
The demolition process began in the spring semester of 2024, and since then, the crew has been putting in the hard, long, and steady work to get the building to where it is now.
I remember wondering back in Mar. 2024 how the building would be finished in time for fall break 2025, and now my question has been answered. It’s so exciting to watch the building take form.
Even though I will no longer be a student when construction is complete, I can appreciate how the graduating classes after me will benefit.
This team’s efficiency is impressive, to say the least. It seems like just yesterday I saw a wrecking ball smash through the Prosser Auditorium, and now, the construction team is installing walls and floors. The crew is incredibly organized, and despite working long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, and on the weekends, they always seem to be in high spirits.
I hope the crew understands just how impactful their work is. This new HUB will provide a common place for the Moravian community to congregate. Whether to study, eat, learn, relax, or socialize, the HUB 2.0 will fill the void left on North campus since the demolition of the original building.
The next time you see the amazing workers who are a part of this construction team, give them a smile, wave, and thank them for what they are doing for our campus community.
Keep an eye out for an upcoming article where our staff will take you on a hard-hat tour of the new building!
