What is your club about?
Photography! We take photos as a group on and off campus, and also review techniques and tips for taking photos.
When was your club established?
The first week of the Fall 2025 semester! Last semester, around April or May, I got the idea to put the club together with friends.
Who are your current leaders (advisors, president, vice president, etc.)?
President: Rey Gabriel
Vice President: Molly Lutz
Treasurer: Sierra George
Content Chair (Social Media): Trevor Gregory
Activity Organizer: Grant Brensinger
Advisor: Luke Wynne
When does your club meet?
We have weekly meetings on Friday, and bi-weekly meetings on Mondays.
If you could pair up with another club for an event or project, who would it be?
I’d have to say a trip with MAC or a field trip with a group that has a larger budget. I’d personally be willing to do stuff with any club, so long as they need a photographer. I saw a DIY sort of technique where you can use a camera to make different aesthetic effects (Bokeh), so maybe something like that.
Any projects that your club is excited about?
We have plans for our first off-campus trips to spots downtown that are being put together. We need to get it approved and consider the logistics, but I’m always thinking of ideas on how to achieve our goals. We want to try to have at least one field trip done during the spring semester, especially since I’ll be studying abroad next year.
If you had an unlimited budget, what dream project would your club put it towards?
Buying new cameras for everyone and taking a worldwide trip to exotic places, like Japan. So many different aspects of culture, like clothing, events, and more, make it something I’d want to get photographed. I feel a bit bad for those who don’t have formal cameras, so I’d want them to experience a new medium.
Any tips for aspiring photographers out there?
Take photos every day and bring your camera anywhere you go! Also, take pictures of anything you find interesting. Even if it’s not the most appealing, you can make something out of it.
