The movie “Little Women” hit theaters on Dec. 25. The film features an amazingly talented cast, which includes stars Saoirse Ronan, Timotheé Chalamet, Emma Watson, and Laura Dern.

The film is based on a true story by Louisa May Alcott about her life and family growing up in post-Civil War America. The moving story follows the lives of four sisters — Jo, Beth, Meg, and Amy March, as they struggle to find their place in the world.

The story takes place in the small town in Concord, Massachusetts. The film focuses on the life-changing moments that shape the March family over the course of their childhood, eventually following them into adulthood.

Throughout the film viewers are able to see how even in the face of tragedy and dark times, themes such as perseverance, love, and the importance of family are reflected. Each sister seeks a different life, but through their strong family bond they continue to stay supportive of one another, even as their lives rapidly change.

I greatly enjoyed this film. The development of the characters did justice to Louisa May Alcott’s masterpiece. The role of women during this time period plays a significant role in the development of the story. Each sister experiences their own series of setbacks and challenges that create conflict over the course of the story.

During this time period, the roles of women were set in stone, as they did not have much freedom to create the life they imagined. What I love about this story is that despite the challenges they face, each sister continues to persist and stay true to their dreams and morals. They all break barriers and defy some of the normalities that were expected of them, despite what others may have thought.

Little Women” has received many accolades. The film earned six Oscar nominations, including for Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Directed by Greta Gerwig, “Little Women” is a must-see performance, packed with a phenomenal cast and an incredible storyline that will not disappoint.

It’s is a one-of-a-kind film that will allow you to be both moved and inspired, as it did for fans all over the world.
