Editor’s Letter 4/1

Welcome to the newest Kameenian Edition! You might be missing a familiar name here, and to that, I say … who?

Just kidding, for today and today only, I’m taking the reins of AJ as editor to deliver your most awaited biweekly editorial announcement!

After years of getting to know AJ, I finally staged my coup of the newspaper and locked him in the Doghouse – don’t worry, I left him a karaoke machine and some pizza for the night!

Now, the April Fools’ edition is by far one of my favorites every year. Funny stories and silly pictures and for a limited time, all mistakes can be blamed on it being a joke! An editor’s dream.

And now that I have the spotlight, I’d like to let my cat, Gustavo, have a word: fdfn our33i4 392 h38483q0 hf3w2 31///234/23//// /2/3/2/3//2 3//23 meow mew moew ..//www

Thanks, Gus! I don’t know what I would do without his infinite wisdom. As my last act as Editor-in-Goof for the day, all of our future news will be conveyed through interpretive dances. No more late nights staying up writing, editing, and uploading articles, only groovy moves.

But in all seriousness, while I have the stage, I would just like to say how thankful I am for our newspaper staff, which has turned into a family away from home, at least speaking for myself.

Our reporters and editors work overtime to deliver quality content to the campus, and our paper wouldn’t be what it is without these amazing people on our small, but deadly, staff. And, AJ doesn’t get enough recognition for all the work he does for this paper and the community that reads it, so a shoutout to both my previous and future Editor-in-Chief.

So, no April Fools here, just me being a sap.

And back to our regularly scheduled programming:

In order to gain a better grasp of student, faculty, and staff opinions on The Comenian, we have made a feedback form to give a more direct way for our readers to provide input and feedback on our content. Additionally, we will be offering a $50 Amazon gift card to one, randomly-chosen undergraduate student who fills out the form by April 12. Regardless of the giveaway, however, we are looking for any and all input from our readers, so please feel free to fill it out if you are a part of the wider Moravian community!

Before I sign off: if you’re interested in joining The Comenian please join us at our meetings, which take place every Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Zinzendorf Hall, room 100. We also have secondary meetings on Thursdays at the same time and place for people who can’t come on Wednesdays. If you cannot make it to meetings, that is fine as well! We fully allow asynchronous participation, so don’t feel scared about not making it to meetings.

We are looking for new writers, photographers, videographers, graphic designers, and more, so if any of those interest you be sure to stop by or email me at [email protected]

The Comenian supports a wide range of content. If you want to interview students around campus, you can. If you want to make video essays you can. If you want to make short comics, you can. Whether you want to write about news, politics, music, movies, sports, video games, food, history, or anything else, I guarantee you will have a place here.

Also, if you would like to be notified by email whenever we publish a new edition of the paper – either the online or print version – please send your address to [email protected]. We’ll add you to our email list!

April Fools’ joke here … Thank you for reading our paper and be sure to check back in for future editions!

Your Editor-In-Goof,

Liz “the mean” Kameen
