I’ve enjoyed the many eclectic ice cream shops in Bethlehem, but I have to say, Wondaffle has completely captured my heart as my personal favorite.
If you’re like me, you may be someone who isn’t totally into ice cream; controversial, I know. I still like to have it every once in a while as a celebratory treat. But, unfortunately, I have sensitive teeth, which dims the ice cream-eating experience.
So, colored me ecstatic when I discovered a spot like Wondaffle, located in Southside Bethlehem!
Opened in April 2025 by the owners of Batch Microcreamery, this delectable eatery is well-known for combining ice cream with waffles to create amazing customizable specialties, from ice cream-topped Belgian waffles to bubble waffles. These waffles tend to be wonderfully fluffy with a perfectly crunchy exterior and can be topped with up to two scoops.
This shop honestly has an impressive variety of ice cream flavors such as Black Raz, Butter Pecan, Cold Brew, Cookie Monster (a blue vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips, Oreo, and or cookie dough), and Sprinkle Cake.
It also has plenty of topping options, from chocolate chips and Nutella drizzle to gummy bears and fruity pebbles. I hope that in the future, they can add more toppings and maybe introduce waffle tacos.
My go-to order is the create-your-own bubble waffle with two scoops of salted caramel topped with brownie bites and Nutella. I am a sucker for chocolate, and Wondaffle really caters to my chocoholic cravings!
If you aren’t into waffles, the shop has classic options like ice cream in a cup and milkshakes. Seriously, please go and try the milkshakes, they are insanely divine and well-blended! Also featured are gluten-free options, such as waffle cones and bowls, and vegan/dairy-free options, such as the Vegan Vanilla ice cream made with a blend of coconut and oatmilk.
The workers also do a great job of managing such a bustling joint. I appreciate how attentive they are, and if they happen to make a mistake with your order, they graciously and efficiently remake it.
For both Moravian and Lehigh students, Wondaffle is a sweet retreat to go with friends, especially during the warmer months of the school year. Many times, when my friend group and I go out for dinner in Southside, we almost always head to Wondaffle afterwards to end our night on a sugary high note.
I implore all of you, when you’re finished with finals or whatever responsibilities you have during finals week, treat yourselves to a delicacy at Wondaffle!
Wondaffle is located on 307 E 3rd St in Southside Bethlehem. Its hours are Monday through Wednesday, 3 pm to 9 pm; Thursday and Friday, 3 pm to 12 am; Saturday, 12 pm to 12 am; and Sunday, 12 pm to 9 pm.
