Moravian Celebrates Arbor Day

On Arbor Day last spring, the Moravian community planted three native trees near the Benigna statue on South Campus.

This trio of trees — a red bud, persimmon, and sassafras — joins the more than 1,200 species that grace Moravian’s nationally-recognized Tree Campus USA.

Led by Randy Haffling, assistant director of Grounds and Logistics, some three dozen students, staff, and faculty welcomed the new arrivals — and planted them in their new home.
