Hey, Hounds!

I hope y’all are as happy to be back on campus as I am! Now I know that everyone knows that drinking is a huge part of college culture, but it doesn’t necessarily have to play a role in your college experience if you don’t want it to. Don’t succumb to peer pressure. Instead, take a look at all of the beautiful scenery around you. Below I have listed some fun, zero-proof ways to have fun while in college!

  1. Visit the Steelstacks

Occupying 1,800 acres along the Lehigh River, the Bethlehem Steelstacks stands tall as a piece of American history. Providing steel to countless companies, both domestic and international. No longer in service, the Steelstacks are still open for self-guided tours of the gargantuan building. The public can also enjoy the live music that occasionally plays on the lower level of the stacks.

2. Embrace your space!

You can have boatloads of fun just being in your on-campus living space. Go to the store or check out Mo’s Cupboard, located in the lower level of the HUB, and find ingredients to make some baked goods. Whatever you and your roommates like, cookies, cake, blondies, just have some fun in the kitchen.

If baking is not your thing, turn off all the lights, cuddle up under all the blankets you own, and put on a good movie for you and your friends to enjoy. Not only will that boost your serotonin levels, but it will also give your brain a nice break from schoolwork.

3. Special spending ($$$)

These ideas will chip into your wallet just a bit, but for the experience, it is totally worth it! Try all the amazing restaurants downtown Bethlehem has to offer. Some of the writers here at The Comenian love eating out at The Flying Egg, Cachette Bistro & Creperie, and Brew Works.

If you like going out but wanna stay inside, why not attend an event at Windcreek? A stunning addition to Bethlehem, positioned at 77 Wind Creek Blvd, this establishment has recently hosted such talents as Chris Rock, the Dancing With The Stars cast, and Rick Springfield. For the 21-year-old students, you may be interested in checking out and enjoying the stunning Windcreek casino and bars.

And for our more adventurous Hounds, why not test your wits at Captured LV Escape Room? They have two locations, one in Bethlehem and the other just over the bridge in Allentown. Grab a group of friends to make the cost lower per person and enjoy all the excitement this escape room may give you!
