If you haven’t been to Johnny’s yet, there is something wrong with you. It’s a casual bagel and deli establishment open from 6 a.m.–5 p.m. daily, and the menu is expansive.
They have bagels, soups, salads, sandwiches, subs, wraps, burgers, omelets, breakfast platters, breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and smoothies. Yeah, that menu is pretty large.
Johnny’s has always been my go-to spot, and I grew up near the border of New Jersey and New York, so when I say I know bagels, I know bagels. I would drive 45 minutes to my bagel place in Jersey, and Johnny’s is the only place that even comes close in comparison.
There’s a wide variety of spreads, bagels, and other snacks you can try. My personal favorite is how they always have fresh-squeezed orange juice, as well as some more niche finds, like strawberry juice.
The staff is also so beyond attentive, fast, and sweet. One day, before my coffee, I actually could not get out the words “French toast bagel,” and for some reason kept saying “cinnamon raisin” over and over again, and when I finally got it right, we all giggled about it.
The French toast bagels are delicious, gooey, and so sweet, and they aren’t just a bagel – they actually cook it like it’s French toast on a griddle-like contraption.
They have a variety of bagels, from salt, rainbow, onion, egg, and many more. The spreads are not any different; you can order lox, jalapeno, honey walnut, peanut butter, strawberry, and a larger selection, as well.
I’ve been in organizations that have done bulk orders from Johnny’s, and they always excel, providing quick and satisfying service.
Johnny’s is located in the perfect spot for South campus students, only about a five-minute walk, and I used to go there all the time when I lived on South campus. For North residents or commuters, it’s only a 5-minute drive or a 20-minute walk down Main Street, and I definitely recommend taking the trip.
The ambiance is very cozy, with couches for patrons to sit on, and pennants from Moravian hung all over. Although it’s not the fanciest atmosphere, it reminds me of home, and I personally love it.
I love walking in and hearing the music playing over the speakers (they have some great taste there), and seeing college students, locals, and all the like buzzing around and chatting. The dining area is pretty large with lots of places to sit; starting from the couch at the front window, where you can watch the bustle outside, a counter area, rows of standard dining tables, and patio tables on the sidewalk.

Students love Johnny’s at Moravian. Neuroscience and Musical Performance double majoe Phoenix King ‘27 said, “My favorite part about Johnny’s is interacting with the employees; they’re always enthusiastic and welcoming.”
Prices stay reasonable, even when you start stacking extras on a breakfast sandwich, which makes it an easy choice for broke college students or anyone who just wants a proper meal without dropping a down payment.
They offer take-out during regular business hours. You can order ahead online and pick up your order during the estimated pick-up time, or you can also call to place an order.
Johnny’s is located at 472 Main St. Their phone number is (610) 232-7877, their website is johnnysbagelsonmain.com, and I recommend it beyond belief.
During peak hours, the line can get long, but don’t worry – it’s worth it. I’d rate Johnny’s a 5/5, it’s one of my favorite spots on North side.
