I love a good breakfast and brunch joint, and if you’re willing to drive a little bit away, Raven 96 is the place for you. About a 25-minute drive from Moravian, this restaurant is tucked away in The Simon Silk Mill in Easton and has some amazing cocktails, coffee, and breakfast options.
Last week, Fatimah and I went to this hidden spot to celebrate our friend Emma’s birthday, so I would be remiss not to give her at least a shoutout for showing us this place! Although the establishment is a little more expensive than you might be used to, I would definitely say it is worth it.
I ordered one of the more expensive options, the Mini Pancake Flights, because it immediately reminded me of something I used to order at one of my favorite places in Florence, Italy, when I studied abroad: Cat Café Firenze. These mini pancakes, covered in Nutella and bananas, were almost a replica of the meal I ate at least once a week in Italy, so I felt that I deserved a nice little reminder, even if it was $19.
I am picky, so I just chose the Nutella and bananas for all the pancakes, but the actual order included stacks of pancakes covered by strawberry coconut and orange creamsicle fluff and chocolate chips. The Mini Pancake Flights also came with bacon and sausage. Although the bacon was a little too crispy for my liking, I still enjoyed the entire meal and left stuffed.
I didn’t personally order a cocktail, but many people in our group did, and I heard they tasted amazing (although, again, a little pricey for a college student’s budget, ranging from $11 to $14.50).
The food also came out incredibly fast, especially for a group of 13, and the wait staff was incredibly attentive to our table. A few things to note: Raven 96 will only take reservations for 12+, otherwise they only accept walk-ins, and they allow diners to split the check in two ways.
The ambiance of the restaurant was amazing: there was music playing in the background, but not too loud that it drowned out the conversations you’re having with those around you. There are a couple of spots around the restaurant that offer cute photo ops, and there’s no shortage of places to grab a quick pic with your friends.
Raven 96 is located at 669 N 13th St, Suite A102, Easton, PA 18042, and is usually open from 8 AM–2 PM. They are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
