Letters of Support: From MoCo Women’s Basketball to Spring Athletes
After the news broke that all spring sports would be cancelled because of the coronavirus, the Moravian College Women’s basketball players hand-wrote letters of support to all the spring athletes.
“We wanted [them] to know that they have the support and love from fellow Hounds,” said assistant basketball coach Madison Corrento.
The team knew what their fellow athletes were missing.
“We, as a basketball program, were fortunate enough to not have our season affected by COVID-19,” said Corrento. “Our seniors were able to finish their last season with their team and leave everything they had on the court. However, the spring athletes were not as lucky, and I could not imagine the heartbreak they went through knowing their season came to an abrupt end, especially the seniors.”
Having a season stripped away made everyone a little more grateful for their time as an athlete whether it was on the field, track, or court.

Thanks for bringing attention and recognition to this act of compassion. It also helps highlight this one specific sacrifice and source of heartache, of which I know there are SO many. Still, your efforts help to soften the blow each time you spotlight them.
Again, many thanks,
Bob Brill, Moravian Faculty Athletic Representative
