I love El Jefe’s, located on the South Side of Bethlehem. When my brother came home last year with nachos from Jefe’s, I fell in love. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the nachos themselves had a perfect amount of salt on them.
I completely threw out any love I had for other Mexican restaurants, and Jefe’s instantly became my favorite.
El Jefe’s is set up like a Moe’s or Chipotle; you can order food and customize it as you like. Nachos, tacos, burritos, you name it! The quality of the food at Jefe’s is just leagues above any other restaurant like it though.
What’s better, the workers will pile on food if you’d like. They’re happy to accommodate you to as little or as much as you want. If I’m feeling cheesy, the workers will put a mountain of cheese on my food without thinking much of it.
I know all the food is excellent here because my friends all enjoy it. Seriously, everyone I go with gets something different, and they all rave about how good it is. Personally, I’m a fan of the super nachos or the taco salad. There are a lot of options to choose from, so I feel like I can get a different version of the same meal, depending on how I’m feeling.
El Jefe’s also has food for vegans or vegetarians. You’re not locked down to anything, even if the menu may say otherwise.
Here’s the awesome part though: El Jefe’s is open until 3 a.m. every single day!
I get the munchies pretty often when I’m up late, and Jefe’s is always a shining beacon, ready to ease my hunger. Having a delicious meal at 1:30 a.m. with my close friends is fantastic. Hopping in the car late at night tends to be a thrill when you know that Jefe’s is the destination.
I will say though: it does get very crowded on weekends. Even if you go super late, expect to wait in line. Everybody wants that yummy Jefe’s!
El Jefe’s is still open for lunch and dinner though, so don’t feel like it’s only for late-night snacking. They’re also open for breakfast starting at 8 a.m., though I’ve never had any of their breakfast food. However, considering everything else is top-quality, I would venture to guess that it’s also amazing.
Trust me, you’ll never want to go to places like Chipotle or Moe’s ever again after having El Jefe’s. The delicious food, coupled with an attentive staff is always something to get excited for. I’ve never seen the dining room full (except for weekends), so whether you do takeout or eat-in, you’ll never have to wait long after getting your food.
It is one of my favorite restaurants in Bethlehem, and I’m always prepared for a Jefe’s run.
El Jefe’s is located at 506 E 3rd St, Bethlehem, PA 18015. Their phone number is 610-419-2000.
