Welcome back to another edition of The Comenian! Now that the fall leaves are finally settling in and the brand new HUB is open, the campus is starting to feel more alive again! Students are settling into their class routines and finding a steady routine.
Now in my senior year, I find it so interesting watching the younger students find their own paths on campus, and I have also been enjoying trying new things during my final year! And, I’ve finally been able to people-watch in the HUB once again.
To get a little vulnerable with you all, I have been having a hard time navigating my senior year. A slew of self-doubt, a quickly approaching change of routine, and a looming sense that I no longer belong have been slightly consuming. I don’t know if it is the senioritis kicking in a bit too soon, but to any of our seniors feeling the same, know you are doing amazing and that our campus wouldn’t be what it is without you here!
I am very proud of all our Comenian staff for the work they have been putting in this semester, for this edition, and for our first print of the year! You are all doing amazing work, and know that it is so valued and recognized.
And the same for you, dear readers! Thank you to those who consistently tune in, and welcome to any new readers.
While you all enjoy this online edition, our editors and reporters are hard at work preparing our Halloween print edition, so keep your eyes out for a copy!
As always:
If you’re interested in joining The Comenian, please attend our meetings, which take place every Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. in Zinzendorf Hall, room 100. We also have secondary meetings on Thursdays at the same time and place for those who cannot attend on Wednesdays. If you cannot participate in meetings, that is fine as well; we allow asynchronous participation, so you don’t need to worry about missing meetings.
We are seeking new writers, photographers, videographers, graphic designers, and more. If any of these interests you, please stop by or email me at [email protected].
The Comenian supports a wide range of content. If you want to interview students around campus, you are welcome to do so. If you want to make video essays, you can. If you want to make short comics, you can. Whether you want to write about, whether it’s news, politics, music, movies, sports, video games, food, history, or anything else, I guarantee you will have a place here.
Also, if you would like to be notified by email whenever we publish a new edition of the paper – either the online or print version – please send your address to [email protected]. We’ll add you to our email list!
Thank you for tuning in!
Your Managing Editor,
Lola Offenback
